| George Dasic Architects was founded in 1989 by George Dasic RIBA. The practice is based in Tokyo and is led by an |
| international team of talented and motivated architects and professionals.
  |
| The projects explore new theories about workplace concepts and sustainable architecture. The driving design principle |
| is that a well-designed space improves wellbeing, productivity and efficiency. Sustainable, greener architecture is not |
| just matter of taste, but also a matter of our planet's survival.
  |
| Our vision of a modern workplace is a technology driven, highly flexibly space where collaboration, communication, |
| speed, interaction, teamwork and creativity are the driving parameters; a highly efficient workplace, yet at the same |
| times a playful and comfortable environment.
  |
| The practice has a particular interest in the role technology plays in the design environment as a whole. Modern financial |
| institutions with their trading floors and communication requirements provide the perfect ground for developing an architectural |
| language built around negotiating the chaotic environments and complex layers created by the organizational |
| hierarchies. Often, there is an analogy with the urban fabric of modern cities like Tokyo…the ultimate exercise |
| in controlled chaos.
  |
| Our design philosophies are put into practice in the organization of our own office. Heavily reliant on technology, it is |
| as close to a "paperless" office as any can be today. It is equipped and constantly updated with the latest CAD and |
| CG technology. All of the designs are developed three-dimensionally and materials delivered over the net through |
| broadband connections. Paper is used only when absolutely necessary.
  |
| The quest for architectural and design excellence is matched with the quest for greener, more energy efficient and |
| ultimately fully sustainable architecture. Innovative use of technology, clean renewable energy sources and often |
| forgotten and neglected traditional methods are driving principles in achieving not just efficient and elegant designs but |
| also responsible designs.
  |
| The bulk of our work has been based on workplace and residential projects. At the same time, the practice has been |
| invited to participate in numerous design competitions. Those (different) aspects are balanced and they mutually draw |
| inspiration from each other. The competitions are used as a "research ground" to experiment with new concepts and |
| strategies. The solutions devised for a museum or a residential project are often applied in a different form in one of the |
| office projects and vice versa.
  |
| Currently the majority of the residential and workplace projects are located in Japan while the building and urban |
| projects in progress are in Europe, Asia and Americas. The works has been publicized in various architectural and |
| professional publications as well as TV programs and exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions.
